Richfield Township Board of Trustees Regular

June 25, 2001

 

Regular scheduled Richfield Township Board of Trustees meeting was called to order at 8:00 p.m.

Roll Call: Trustees - Robert Hooper, Shano Cica-Mraz and Robert Luther

Clerk / Treasurer - Mark Uhrich

Others present: Laurie Gilmore - Office Administrator; Laurie Pinney – Zoning Inspector and Officer Gilbert.

Ms. Cica-Mraz made a motion to approve the amended minutes for May 14, May 16, May 30 and June 11, 2001, seconded by Mr. Hooper: Mr. Luther – No; Mr. Hooper – Yes, Ms. Cica-Mraz – Yes, motion passes by majority.

Mr. Hooper made a motion to approve warrant report 6030 to 6071, seconded by Ms. Cica-Mraz, motion carried unanimously.

Ms. Pinney reviewed the items on her Zoning Agenda (see following "Zoning Agenda – June 2001").

Officer Gilbert reviewed the items on the Police Department Agenda (see following "Trustee Meeting 6/25/01")

Road and Service Department report presented by Ms. Gilmore: Questioned whether construction on the new storage building can begin and at what cost Mr. Luther indicated that the contractor’s price for material and labor are firm. The current plan does not include garage doors. Mr. Luther stated he would get estimates on the doors and have them installed soon after the building is constructed.

Ms. Cica-Mraz made a motion to approve the clerks’ attendance at a State of Ohio Treasurers conference and fees not to exceed $100.00, seconded by Mr. Hooper, motion carried unanimously.

Ms. Gilmore reviewed the tennis court renovation project. Richfield Village will pay half of proposed project. Craig Cawrse and Associates will develop plans and provide specifications for the construction of tennis, basketball, and volleyball courts at a cost not to exceed $7,400.00. Mr. Hooper made a motion to approve Craig Cawrse as plan developer and costs not to exceed $3,700.00, seconded by Ms. Cica-Mraz, motion carried unanimously.

Mr. Hooper stated the Richfield Township web site is up and running at www.richfield-twp.org.

Mr. Luther made a motion to appoint R. Anderson as an advisory member to Rising Valley Park for the remainder of 2001, motion seconded by Mr. Hooper, motion carried unanimously.

Public Forum:

Becky Sheryak, 3105 Brush Road, complimented the trustees on the web site.

Mr. Rich Flemming, 2780 Columbia Road, wanted to know if Richfield Township has made any provision for the possibility of the separation affecting the Tennis court renovation project and lease with Richfield Village.

Wanted to know the threshold amount for costs of projects for bidding – Mr. Hooper responded any cost / project under $15,000. Mr. Flemming wanted to gain access to unapproved minutes before the Trustees vote on them. Ms. Cica-Mraz indicated that Richfield Township would obtain the Summit Count Prosecutors opinion on this matter.

Mr. Chris Merk asked the Trustees where he could find information about how the Township and Trustees operate. Ms. Cica-Mraz explained the resources available to review.

 

Mr. Hooper made a motion to conclude the Richfield Township regular meeting at 8:55 p.m., seconded by Ms. Cica-Mraz, motion carried unanimously.
