SPECIAL MEETING, JANUARY 2, 2002

SPECIAL SCHEDULED RICHFIELD TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER AT 6:35 P.M.

Roll Call: Trustees - Present - Robert Hooper, Shano Cica-Mraz, Laurie Peters Gilmore
             Clerk / Treasurer - Mark Uhrich

Others present: Laurie Pinney - Zoning Inspector, Mr. Jerry Schall - Road Foreman

The meeting started with the swearing in of the two elected Richfield Township Trustees, Mr. Robert Hooper and Ms. Laurie Peters Gilmore.

Mr. Hooper made a motion to nominate Shano Cica-Mraz as chair of the Board of Trustees, seconded by Ms. Gilmore, motion carried unanimously.

Ms. Mraz made a motion to nominate Mr. Hooper as Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees, seconded by Ms. Gilmore, motion carried unanimously.

Ms. Cica-Mraz made a motion to approve warrant report 6574 to 6617, seconded by Mr. Hooper, motion carried unanimously.

Ms. Mraz spoke about the Resolution 1-2002, Organizational Resolution.  Also, Mr. Nagy from the Rising Valley Park Board was present to discuss RVP's request to increase the yearly maintenance contribution from $4,000.00 to $6,000.00.  The Richfield township trustees are in favor of raising the contribution, but will wait to hear back from Hinckley's Board of Trustees since they should match Richfield's contribution.  The Township has hired Ms. Linda Bowmer, wife of Ken Bowmer Board of Zoning Appeal Member, as part-time Office Administrator.

Ms. Mraz read portions of Resolution 1-2002, Organizational Resolution:  Ms. Gilmore made a motion to adopt Resolution 1-2002, seconded by Ms. Mraz, motion carried unanimously.

Public Forum:

Nick Kosantras, 3520 Brecksville Road, congratulated Mr. Hooper and Ms. Gilmore and further stated he was appreciative of the new Board of Richfield Township Trustees approach to working with the Village of Richfield in a harmoniously manner focused on the whole community.

Mr. Ken Bowmer, 3218 Twig Road, offered his resignation as a BZA member if there was any conflict of interest with his wife as Office Administrator.

Ms. Mraz responded - we checked into this and there is no conflict of interest.

Ms. Mraz stated that ahe first Regular Scheduled Richfield Township Board of Trustees meeting is set for 7:00 p.m. on January 14, 2002.
 

Ms. Mraz made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:00 p.m., seconded by Mr. Hooper, motion carried unanimously.
