RICHFIELD TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING
October 20, 2005
7:00 p.m.
The Richfield Township Board of Trustees met for their regular meeting on
October 20, 2005 with the following in attendance:
Laurie Peters Gilmore, Trustee Chairperson
David Wyatt, Trustee Vice Chairperson
Linda Bowmer, Township Administrator
Laurie Pinney, Zoning Inspector
A motion was made by Ms. Gilmore and seconded by Mr. Wyatt to approve
the minutes of October 6, 2005. The motion passed with unanimous approval
of those in attendance.
A motion was made by Ms. Gilmore and seconded by Mr. Wyatt to approve
warrants 11583 to 11606. The motion passed with unanimous approval of
those in attendance.
The clerk report was provided by Ms. Pinney, who provided the monthly and
quarterly financial reports. A motion to adopt Resolution 13-2005
Accepting the Amounts and Rates as Determined by the Budget Commission and
Authorizing the Necessary Tax Levies and Certifying Them to the County
Fiscal Officer was made by Ms. Gilmore, seconded by Mr. Wyatt and passed
by unanimous approval of those in attendance.
The zoning report was provided by Ms. Pinney, who stated that the summary
zoning report for the month of October should be ready for the November 3
meeting. Ms. Gilmore had a resident inquire about a possible turn lane
being added at 303 & Black Roads. Ms. Gilmore has verified that ODOT was
just working on drainage and that no turn lane is planned at this time.
Mr. Wyatt provided the parks report. Township representatives will be
attending the ceremony on October 25 at 4:00 p.m. turning over the
ownership of the Hinckley area of Rising Valley Park to the Cleveland
Metroparks. The trustees decided to hold a work session immediately
following the program to meet with RVP Board members.
The road report was provided by Ms. Gilmore. Jerry Schall reports that the
township trucks have received preventative maintenance and are ready for
snowplowing.
The Administration report was provided by Ms. Bowmer. The Richfield Civic
Organization is holding their tree-lighting ceremony on Friday, November
25 at 6:30 p.m. Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs are offering a free
seminar on employment issues on November 1 and Ms. Bowmer is planning on
attending.
In New Business, a motion was made by Mr. Wyatt and seconded by Ms.
Gilmore to approve Resolution 14, A Resolution of Richfield Township,
Ohio, Conditionally Approving the Request for an Assignment of the Cable
Television Franchise from Adelphia to Time Warner. The motion passed by
unanimous approval of those in attendance.
Announcements – Ms. Gilmore reported that a number of township
representatives will be attending the upcoming Low-Impact Development
Workshop to be held on October 31 at the Cuyahoga Valley Environmental
Education Center. Ms. Gilmore also reported that a letter of thanks for
the donation of work gloves had been received from Mayor Quave of
D’Iberville, where the Cuyahoga Falls shipment of Hurricane Katrina relief
supplies were sent. Influenza vaccinations will be given locally at the
Richfield Senior Center on November 4 12-3 p.m. and at the Richfield Fire
Department November 15 1-3 p.m.
A motion was made to adjourn at 7:25 p.m. by Ms. Gilmore, seconded by
Mr. Wyatt and received unanimous approval of those in attendance.
