The Richfield Township Board of Trustees met for a regular meeting on
August 17, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. with the following in attendance:
Shano Cica-Mraz, Trustee Chairperson
David Wyatt, Trustee Vice Chairperson
Laurie Peters Gilmore, Trustee
Laurie Pinney, Zoning Inspector
Linda Bowmer, Administrator
A motion was made by Ms Cica-Mraz and seconded by Mr. Wyatt to approve
warrant items 12295-12374. The motion passed with unanimous approval
A motion was made by Ms. Cica-Mraz and seconded by Ms. Gilmore to accept
the minutes of May 18 and June 1, 2006. The motion passed with unanimous
approval.
A motion was made by Mr. Wyatt and seconded by Ms. Gilmore to accept the
minutes of June 15 and July 6 and 20, 2006. The motion passed with
unanimous approval, with the abstention of Ms. Cica-Mraz.
A motion was made by Ms. Cica-Mraz to recommend Charles Harris &
Associates for the two-period audit at a rate of $16,480. The motion was
seconded by Mr. Wyatt and passed with unanimous approval.
A motion was made by Ms. Cica-Mraz and seconded by Mr. Wyatt to approve
supplementary appropriations to fund 23 in the amount of $5,000 and fund
26 in the amount of 24,000. The motion passed with unanimous approval.
A motion was made by Ms. Cica-Mraz and seconded by Mr. Wyatt to adjust
fund 01 General appropriations to allow an increase of up to $5000 in
legal spending for matters related to the JJJ/Allega Companies. The
motion passed with unanimous approval.
The Parks report was provided by Mr. Wyatt. The north soccer field
at Rising Valley Park has been closed to practices and will be used for
games only, to relieve wear on the field. Some soccer groups may be
disbanding or finding other fields next year, which will reduce wear on
the turf. The park driveway has been recently patched.
The Roads report was provided by Ms. Gilmore. The septic system at the
Boston Mills service yard has been completed. The building addition is
almost complete. The Chevy Silverado 3500 pickup was offered for bid,
with no bids received by the August 11 deadline. A late bid was brought
in today for $10,000. The truck will be re-advertised for bid, this time
with no minimum bid.
A motion was made by Ms. Gilmore and
seconded by Mr. Wyatt to accept Resolution 12 to proceed with submission
of the bond levy issue for construction of a new town hall and
administration building and to place the issue on the November ballot.
The motion passed with unanimous approval.
A motion was made at 8:20 p.m. by Ms. Cica-Mraz and seconded by Mr.
Wyatt to go into executive session with township legal counsel John
Slagter to discuss pending legal action for a zoning issue. The motion
passed with unanimous approval.
A motion was made by Ms. Cica-Mraz and seconded by Mr. Wyatt to go out
of executive session and adjourn at 9:55 p.m. The motion passed with
unanimous approval.
