The Richfield Township Board of Trustees met for a regular meeting
on May 18, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. with the following in attendance:
Shano Cica-Mraz, Trustee Chairperson
David Wyatt, Trustee Vice Chairperson
Laurie Peters Gilmore, Trustee
Linda Bowmer, Township Administrator
Laurie Pinney, Zoning Inspector
A motion was made by Ms. Cica-Mraz and seconded by Ms. Gilmore to
approve warrants 12098 - 12167. The motion passed with unanimous
approval.
Ms. Pinney provided the fiscal report. She and Ms. Bowmer will be
meeting with representatives from the Auditor of State’s Office and
potential IPA firms on May 23 at 9:00 a.m. Trustees may attend or submit
questions for the meeting.
Additional funding for legal matters related to the JEDD is required. A
motion was made by Mr. Wyatt and seconded by Ms. Cica-Mraz to approve an
increase of $5000 in this spending category. The motion passed with
unanimous approval.
The zoning report was provided by Ms. Pinney. The Trustees are
scheduled for an executive session at their June 1 to discuss litigation
related to zoning issues. The BZA met on May 15 and is next scheduled
for June 19, with a June 5 deadline. The Zoning Commission is working on
modifications to the Light Industrial-Office district language.
Mr. Wyatt provided the park report. The south field at Rising Valley is
a swamp, but the north field is in good shape. Chris Eastwood talked
with representatives at the St. Bernard’s golf course regarding the
application of herbicide to a 15-acre area. A motion was made by Ms.
Gilmore and seconded by Mr. Wyatt to approve $300 to apply herbicide to
the area. The motion passed with unanimous approval.
The roads report was provided by Ms. Gilmore. The Ford 359 chassis is in
and is now at Carnegie Auto Body having the truck bed installed. The
first round of chipping went fast. The crew was done in three days.
Ms. Bowmer provided the administration report. Representatives from the
township attended the recent County of Summit Engineer dinner at the
Akron Zoo. All Summit County townships were represented, along with
three members from county council. The NIMS mock disaster is scheduled
for May 20 from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. A letter of thanks was received from
the Akron Zoo for the Richfield Community Day. The PTI for the septic at
the Boston Mills service yard has been submitted. The next meeting of
the Cuyahoga Valley Communities Council will be May 24 from 4:30 to
6:00.
A motion to adjourn was made at 7:40 p.m. by Ms. Cica-Mraz, seconded by
Mr. Wyatt and received unanimous approval.
