Richfield Township Trustees
August 9, 2007
The Richfield Township Trustees met for a special meeting on August
9, 2007. The meeting was held as a work session, jointly with the Zoning
Commission and was called to order at 6:30 p.m. with the following in
attendance:
David Wyatt, Trustee Chairman
Laurie Peters Gilmore, Trustee
Shano Cica-Mraz, Trustee
Linda Bowmer, Township Administrator
Laurie Pinney, Zoning Inspector
Kurt Kocias, Zoning Commission Chairman
Jerry Ryba, Zoning Commission Vice Chairman
Dennis Skoda, Zoning Commission
Doug Mory, Zoning Commission
John Myers, Zoning Commission
The Zoning Commission members decided to add an additional meeting in
August, and tabled discussion scheduled for tonight’s meeting until
August 30, 6:30 p.m.
Mike Lyons, Village of Richfield Mayor, presented their land use
plan-in-process, along with Ken Crandall and Charles Fredericks.
Sr. Cabrini Ferritto, of Regina/Mt. Augustine on Broadview Road,
presented a proposal for a continuing care facility on the property. The
Zoning Commission members are reluctant to move forward with such a
significant use modification without having a comprehensive plan in
place as guidance. A rezoning for the property could take six to twelve
months, and Ms. Cica-Mraz advised that the only faster resolution would
come through a Board of Zoning Appeals use variance.
A resident was in attendance to ask what could be done about the
increase in traffic noise from the Ohio Turnpike. He stated that
Brecksville is considering allowing noise barriers to be constructed.
Ms. Cica-Mraz said she would contact Brecksville Mayor Hruby for more
information.
A motion to adjourn at 8:45 p.m. was made by Ms. Gilmore, seconded by
Mr. Wyatt and passed with unanimous approval.
