The Richfield Township Board of Trustees
met for their regular/organizational meeting on January 4, 2007 at 1:35
p.m. with the following in attendance:
Shano Cica-Mraz, Trustee Chairperson
Laurie Peters Gilmore, Trustee
Linda Bowmer, Township Administrator
Laurie Pinney, Zoning Inspector
Dale Canter, Richfield Police
Joe Stopak, Richfield Fire
A motion was made by Ms. Gilmore & seconded by Ms. Cica-Mraz to excuse
Mr. Wyatt from this meeting, as he is out of town. The motion passed
with unanimous approval.
A motion was made by Ms. Cica-Mraz and seconded by Ms. Gilmore to
approve warrants 12675 - 12755. The motion passed with unanimous
approval.
The Police report was provided by Mr.
Canter. There were 1106 calls in December, with 120 being in the
township. The Shop with a Cop program was held on December 16 and was a
great success, with 257 children participating and over $30,000 being
distributed.
The Fire report was provided by Mr. Stopak. There were 89 calls in
December, with 14 township ems and 10 township fire calls. The new
contract started in 2007, and a new fire education officer has started
her position.
The Zoning report was provided by Ms. Pinney. The BZA and Zoning
Commission will continue with the same schedule as in 2006.
The Road report was provided by Ms. Gilmore. Since there has been no
snow, we have had minimal spending on salt and fuel and no overtime
expenses. The crew has been cleaning ditches and doing repairs in the
cemeteries.
The Administration report was provided by Ms. Bowmer. Jan Fischer has
been called for jury duty the week of January 22 and may be out for part
or all of the week. Time Warner has notified that rates will be
increased 5%.
The snowbird festival was discussed. The township will consider dates,
possibly in early February.
In New Business, the Organizational
Resolution 01-2007 was discussed. It had been reviewed at the December
21, 2006 meeting, with all three trustees present and Mr. Wyatt had
voiced support of its passage.
A motion was made by Ms. Gilmore and seconded by Ms. Cica-Mraz to
accept Resolution 01-2007. The motion passed with unanimous approval.
A motion was made by Ms. Cica-Mraz and seconded by Ms. Gilmore to
approve the amended fire and police contracts and forward them to the
Village of Richfield for review and approval. The motion passed with
unanimous approval.
Due to schedule conflicts, the next
regular meeting on January 18 will start at 6:00 p.m., with the public
hearing opening at 7:00 p.m.
A motion was made by Ms. Gilmore and seconded by Ms. Cica-Mraz to
adjourn at 2:00 p.m. The motion passed with unanimous approval.
