The Richfield Township Trustees met for their regular meeting on
September 20, 2007. The meeting was called to order at 7:04 p.m.
with the following in attendance:
David Wyatt, Trustee Chairman
Laurie Peters Gilmore, Trustee
Shano Cica-Mraz, Trustee
Linda Bowmer, Township Administrator
Laurie Pinney, Zoning Inspector
Ms. Pinney provided the Fiscal report. Mr. Wyatt asked about
revenues received for cable franchising.
The Zoning report was provided by Ms. Pinney, who reminded the
Trustees of the scheduled public hearing for rezoning and text
amendments on October 4, 7:00 p.m. The hearing for the Pavlovic
zoning violation case was continued to October 11, 2007, 11:00 a.m.,
to allow the defendant to consult with legal counsel. A Special
Meeting has been set for October 2, 2007, 2:00 p.m. to meet with
John Manley of the Summit County Prosecutor’s Office regarding
zoning matters.
Mr. Wyatt provided the Park report. The International Soccer Club
has been contacted about use of Rising Valley Park. New signs were
installed at the park by the Cleveland Metroparks.
Ms. Gilmore provided the Road report. The department recently
purchased a plate tamper, which was an item that had been rented
several times in the past. Townsend Road has been closed near the
Furnace Run Metropark for a few days, due to culvert work by the
Summit County Engineer, but will open within the next three days.
Scriptype Publishing is doing a full spread on the village and
township Service Departments, which will appear in The Richfield
Times in a future edition.
Ms. Bowmer provided the Administration report. The new Konica
photocopier arrived yesterday and a representative was in today to
train staff on the use of its functions. The Cuyahoga Valley Council
of Governments will have a meeting on September 26, 6:30 p.m. at the
Cuyahoga Valley Career Center.
In New Business, a motion to approve resolution 13-2007 was made
by Mr. Wyatt, seconded by Ms. Cica-Mraz and received unanimous
approval. The resolution addresses the potential cable franchise
revenue loss caused by the passage of Senate Bill 117.
In Announcements, Ms. Gilmore stated that a meeting would be held
soon with the Village of Richfield Service Director to discuss the
bid process for waste hauling.
In Citizens Forum, Jeff Gorman had questions about the status of
Senate Bill 117.
A motion was made by Ms. Gilmore and seconded by Mr. Wyatt to
schedule the October 2, 2007 Special Meeting. The motion passed with
unanimous approval.
A motion was made by Mr. Wyatt and seconded by Ms. Cica-Mraz to
adjourn at 7:36 p.m. The motion passed with unanimous approval.
