RESOLUTION #21-2001

A RESOLUTION OF THE RICHFIELD TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES TO AUTHORIZE THE ELIMINATION OF A TAX LEVY WHICH IS NO LONGER APPROPRIATE AS A RESULT OF CONTRACTING FOR ALL POLICE SERVICES WITH THE VILLAGE OF RICHFIELD.

WHEREAS, the Township currently has three separate police tax levies for police protection to the Township, and

WHEREAS, the Township Trustees have entered into a police contract for all police protection with the Village of Richfield; and

WHEREAS, the levy passed on May 3, 1994 attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit "A" allows an additional tax for the benefit of Richfield Township for the purpose of providing funds directly in the operation of the police department and does not provide for the contracting of services for police protection as provided in the levy passed in November of 1983 and the levy passed on May 2, 1989, attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibits "B" and "C" respective;

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Trustees of Richfield Township, Summit County, Ohio, that the Township's legal counsel and Township Administrator take such action as is necessary to eliminate the levy that is attached hereto as Exhibit "A", the purpose of which has ended as a result of the Township's contracting for all police services form the Village of Richfield.
