RESOLUTION #3-2001
RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT THE LETTER OF RESIGNATION OF THE TOWNSHIP CLERK AND DECLARING THE OFFICE VACANT DUE TO THE RESIGNATION, INCAPACITY OR DISQUALIFICATION.
WHEREAS, the Office of the Clerk for Richfield Township, Summit County, Ohio, is currently occupied by Betty Ann Hayes for the unexpired term ending March 31, 2004; and
WHEREAS, Betty Ann Hayes the duly elected Clerk, has tendered her resignation from the Office of the Trustees, indicating the resignation shall be deemed effective March 31, 2001; and
WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the Clerk will abandon the performance of her duties consistent with the terms of the resignation; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees wishes to begin the process of filling the position of the Office of the Clerk so the business of the Township may be continued without hardship to either the residents or employees of Richfield Township.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF RICHFIELD TOWNSHIP, SUMMIT COUNTY, OHIO:
SECTION 1. That the Board accepts the Letter of Resignation tendered by Betty Ann Hayes; that the acceptance is effective as of March 31, 2001.
SECTION 2. That consistent with the acceptance of the resignation, the Board, pursuant to Ohio Rev. Code 503.24 and 503.241, hereby declares the Office of the Clerk of Richfield Township vacant, effective March 31, 2001, due to the resignation, incapacity, or disqualification of Betty Ann Hayes from that position.
SECTION 3. That in the interest of the taxpayers and employees of Richfield Township, the Trustees hereby declare their intention to accept applications or nominations from interested resident registered voters who want the duties of the Office of the Clerk and wish to be appointed as permitted by Ohio Rev. Code 507.24
SECTION 4. It is found and determined that all formal actions of the Trustees concerning and relating to the adoption of this Resolution were adopted in any open meeting of the Trustees, and that all deliberations of the Trustees and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal actions were in meeting open to the public and in compliance with all legal requirement, including 121.11 of the Ohio Revised Code.
WHEREFORE, this Resolution shall be effective immediately.
