RESOLUTION #8-2001

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE BOARD OF TOWNSHIP TRUSTEES TO ELIMINATE THE USE OF COMPENSATORY TIME AND PROVIDE FOR PAYMENT TO EMPLOYEES FOR ACCRUED UNUSED COMPENSATORY TIME OFF

Offered by: Mraz

WHEREAS, existing employees of Richfield Township have accumulated significant hours of compensatory time off; and

WHEREAS, it would constitute a significant hardship to the Township, as a small employer, to adequately cover the responsibilities of employees while they use all of their compensatory time off; and

WHEREAS, it would be in the best interests of the Township to pay employees for overtime hours worked instead of accruing compensatory time off.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that employees of Richfield Township will no longer accrue compensatory time off in lieu of overtime compensation for hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, and that all employees who have accrued compensatory time to date will be required to use the compensatory time off within the next four months, at times mutually agreeable to the employee, their supervisors, and the Board of Trustees, or these employees will receive pay in lieu of the compensatory time off.
