RESOLUTION #14-2002

A RESOLUTION OF THE RICHFIELD TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES TO AUTHORIZE THE DESIGNATION OF HAWKINS ROAD AS A COUNTY HIGHWAY

WHEREAS, Hawkins Road lies within the Township and is currently a Township Road, the maintenance and repair of which is the responsibility of the Township under Ohio Revised Code Section 5335.01(C).

WHEREAS, Summit County, by and through Gene Esser, County of Summit Engineer, has identified a section of Hawkins Road as a conduit for countywide traffic and has proposed designation of this portion of Hawkins Road as a Summit County Highway, the maintenance and repair of which would be the responsibility of Summit County under Ohio Revised Code Sections 5335.01(A) and 5541.01, et seq.

NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved, by the Board of Trustees of Richfield Township, Summit County, Ohio, that the Township approves designation of Hawkins Road from the Medina County line to Village of Richfield line (approximately 2.3 miles), as a Summit County Highway and transfers responsibility for maintenance and repair of this portion of Hawkins Road to Summit County. Any member of the Board of Trustees of Richfield Township is hereby authorized to perform such additional acts as are necessary to effectuate the purpose of this Resolution, including but not limited to, entering into an agreement under Ohio Revised Code Section 5535.08, to the extent necessary.
