BE IT HEREBY KNOWN BY ALL THOSE PRESENT THAT ON THE 11TH DAY OF MARCH, 2002, THE RICHFIELD TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES MET IN REGULAR SESSION, COMMENCING AT 7:00P.M. IN THE RICHFIELD TOWNSHIP BOARD ROOM, 4410 WEST STREETSBORO ROAD, RICHFIELD, OHIO, STATE OF OHIO.

WHEREAS, the following roads, namely: Townsend Road, from Brecksville Road to the Summit/Cuyahoga County line and Black Road, from the Ohio Turnpike to Route 303, are heavily traveled Summit County Roads within the Township of Richfield; and

WHEREAS, several citizens have complained about the speed of traffic on the fore mentioned Roads; and

WHEREAS, the Richfield Village Police Department has recommended a speed reduction for the above listed Roads; and

WHEREAS, Richfield Township determines that for the general well being and public safety of township residents, that a study on reducing the speed limits on the above listed Roads is warranted; and

WHEREAS, this undertaking will involve, but is not limited to, placement authority, engineering safety requirements, statutory speed limits requirements and warning sign placements.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Richfield Township Board of Trustees request the County of Summit Engineer conduct speed studies of the above listed Roads with a view toward reducing the speed limits.

FURTHER, that after due consideration, the Summit County Engineer forward the results of such studies and his recommendations to Summit County Council for adoption.
