RESOLUTION #10-2003

RESOLUTION APPROVING TRIANGLE PARK AS THE LOCATION
FOR THE RICHFIELD VETERANS’ ASSOCIATION MEMORIAL

WHEREAS, the Richfield Veterans Association have been planning to put a memorial in town honoring Richfield’s veterans going back to the Revolutionary War,

WHEREAS, the Richfield’s Veterans Association would like to move as quickly as possible because of the advanced age of many area veterans,

WHEREAS, the majority of the Richfield Veterans Association members have voted Triangle Park as their first choice as a location for the memorial,

WHEREAS, at the regular Trustee Meeting on December 9, 2002, the trustees unanimously approved a motion to approve the Veterans Association’s use of Triangle Park for installation of a permanent Veterans Memorial,

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Township will be responsible for removing the gazebo and overgrown evergreen trees as determined necessary in Triangle Park and to continue to maintain the grass and shrubs in the Park.

It is also agreed that the Veterans Association will be responsible for the design, fabrication, installation, and all costs related to the memorial and all its portion, as well as being responsible for the upkeep of the memorial and all its portions. As Triangle Park is located in Richfield Village, the Veterans Association agrees to make every attempt to comply with Richfield Village’s zoning regulations for that area.
