RESOLUTON #13-2003

RESOLUTION OF THE RICHFIELD TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES
TO AUTHORIZE THE ELIMINATION OF A TAX LEVY
WHICH IS NO LONGER NEEDED

WHEREAS, the Township currently has two separate continuing police tax levies for police protection to the Township, and

WHEREAS, the 3.6 mills replacement levy for the benefit of the Richfield Township Police District for the purpose of providing and maintaining motor vehicles, communications and other equipment used directly in the operation of a police district and the payment of salaries of police personnel and/or contracted services, passed on May 6, 2003,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Trustees of Richfield Township, Summit County, Ohio, that the Summit County Prosecutor’s office acting as legal counsel for the Township and Township Administrator take such action as is necessary to eliminate the continuing 1.10 mills levy authorized by voters on May 2, 1989. This action is to take effect from January 1, 2004 when the 3.6 mills replacement levy takes effect.
