RESOLUTION #14-2003

REQUESTING THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
TO UNDERTAKE A SPEED STUDY

BE IT HEREBY KNOWN BY ALL THOSE PRESENT THAT ON THE 12TH DAY OF MAY, 2003, THE RICHFIELD TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES MET IN REGULAR SESSION, COMMENCING AT 7:00P.M. IN THE RICHFIELD TOWNSHIP BOARD ROOM, 4410 WEST STREETSBORO ROAD, RICHFIELD, OHIO, STATE OF OHIO.

WHEREAS, Streetsboro Road between Briarwood Road and Interstate 271, falls within the Township of Richfield; and

WHEREAS, St Peregrine’s Academy, an unchartered private school located at 3086 Streetsboro Road, has recently opened, and

WHEREAS, citizens of the Township, the staff of St Peregrine’s Academy and parents of children attending the school have complained about the speed of traffic on the fore mentioned road; and

WHEREAS, the Richfield Village Police Department has recommended a speed reduction for the above listed road; and

WHEREAS, Richfield Township determines that for the general well being and public safety of township residents, students and staff of St Peregrine’s Academy, a study on reducing the speed limits on the above listed road is warranted; and

WHEREAS, this undertaking will involve, but is not limited to, placement authority, engineering safety requirements, statutory speed limit requirements and warning sign placements.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Richfield Township Board of Trustees request the Ohio Department of Transportation conduct a speed study on the above listed road with a view toward reducing the speed limit in the interest of public safety.
