RESOLUTION #02-2008
RESOLUTION OF OPPOSITION TO REMOVE FOREST RUN ROAD BRIDGE FROM THE COUNTY BRIDGE INVENTORY
WHEREAS, this bridge is not a ‘bridge of convenience’ – but a ‘bridge of necessity’ leading to a subdivision of 48 homes,
WHEREAS, this subdivision, which consists of Forest Run Road, Timber Edge, Tall Timbers, Deer Run, Deer Run Oval and Fox Trail Run, does not meet Summit County’s current subdivision regulations as it does not have both ingress and egress. Forest Run Road is the only entrance/exit to this subdivision.
WHEREAS, this bridge is on the County inventory because the originally planned Phase 3 of the development would have extended Fox Tail Run to Alger Road, thereby connecting two county roads. Fox Tail Run is presently stubbed.
WHEREAS, a dam has been built in the natural water course of Furnace Run. The erection of this dam appears to be in direct violation of the originally approved plan for this subdivision. Further, should this dam not hold up under severe weather conditions, it could damage the bridge to the extent that 45 residences could be without ingress or egress to their homes.
WHEREAS, if this bridge became the responsibility of the Township it would cause a serious financial hardship on our community.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees of Richfield Township oppose the Summit County Engineer’s Office removing the Forest Run Road bridge from the County’s inventory and placing repair responsibilities for the bridge on Richfield Township.
