ELECTRICITY

Summit County residents have saved more than $2.5 million on their electric bills as a result of the Electric Aggregation Program with First Energy Solutions that began in October 2002. Due to wholesale market prices, First Energy is unable to offer residents an electric generation supply price lower than the default service price proposed by Ohio Edison and the aggregation program has been suspended. Residents on the aggregation program have been moved back to Ohio Edison who will provide a below market price – no action is necessary from residents at this time. The County will continue to investigate options for electric supply and may enter into an agreement if an offer exists that provides a lower cost supply alternative.
