TRASH AND RECYCLE COLLECTION

The Township has a contract with J & J Refuse for trash and recycling collection. J & J is a family owned company with over 50 years of experience in the landfill and refuse business.

Trash will be collected Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Please contact the Township Office to see what day your street is scheduled. Collection starts at 7.00am – all trash must be at the end of your drive at that time. The quantity of waste is limited to 6 plastic bags or suitable containers not exceeding 45 pounds in weight. All refuse is to be contained, tied and enclosed to prevent leaking, spilling or blowing. Large items generated from a home will also be collected as in the past, but please contact J & J to arrange pickup.

J & J Refuse do not accept dirt, stones, broken concrete, major building materials, infectious waste, household hazardous waste, tires and liquids.

J & J Refuse provides a yellow recycle bin for recycling only, but you can also continue to use blue bags. Your recyclable wastes do not have to be separated – this is done at J & J Refuse’s facility which works with the Stark County MRDD Board to supply employment opportunities to people with disabilities. A separate truck will collect recyclables every week on the same day as the solid waste collection. Recyclable items include:

J & J Refuse do not accept plastic food tubs, plastic bags, egg cartons, paper food boxes, anti-freeze or motor oil containers.

Trash pickup is delayed one day when your pickup day falls on one of the holidays listed below:
New Year’s Day
Memorial Day
July 4th
Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas
Example: if the holiday is on a Monday, the Monday routes will be collected on Tuesday and so on until Friday’s route is picked up on Saturday.
